Indian boxer Kapil Pokhariya secured a bronze medal in the men's 90kg category at the Asian Games after losing his semifinal bout. He was defeated 1-4 by Uzbekistan's Turabek Khabibullaev at the Nishio Gymnasium in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Wednesday. Four judges scored all three rounds 30-27 in favour of the Uzbek boxer, while the fifth judge scored the bout 29-28 for Kapil. Pokhariya had advanced to the semifinals following an impressive unanimous-decision victory over South Korea's Kim Gichae in the quarterfinals. The defeat ended his campaign for the gold medal, adding another podium finish to India's medal tally at the tournament.
