Shiv Kapur, who won India's only individual Asian Games golf gold at the 2002 Busan Games, believes the current national squad has the talent to end the two-decade-long medal drought at the upcoming Nagoya Asian Games. India has named a six-member contingent for the tournament, featuring Yuvraj Sandhu, Veer Ahlawat, and Saptak Talwar in the men's event alongside Pranavi Urs, Diksha Dagar, and Aditi Ashok in the women's competition. The golf competition at the 2026 Asian Games begins on September 30. Kapur noted that Indian golf has entered a stronger phase with players competing consistently on Asian and Ladies European Tours. The 44-year-old former champion expressed confidence that the squad's international experience gives them a genuine chance to contend for both team and individual medals.
