Karnataka CM Urges Public to Prepare for Drought and Power Shortages

Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has warned the public to be mentally prepared for a looming drought, drinking water shortages, and electricity supply issues. Speaking in Bengaluru, he noted that rainfall in the state has been significantly lower than expected. The government has already declared 101 taluks as drought-hit and is preparing reports for further assessment by the Centre. Shivakumar also urged opposition parties not to politicise the situation, stating that the government is actively managing water supply and farmers' issues.
