Karnataka Father Arrested For Pushing Two Children Into Canal

A man named Shantappa has been taken into custody in Karnataka’s Yadgir district after allegedly pushing his two children into an irrigation canal. The bodies of the nine-year-old girl and her two-and-a-half-year-old brother were recovered by the Fire Department following a search operation. Police stated that the father called the 112 emergency helpline to report the incident after taking his children to the canal on a motorcycle. During the inquiry, the accused claimed he committed the act because the children were closer to their mother, Renuka, and did not get along with him. Authorities have registered a case and are adding Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to murder.
