Karnataka IAS officer Gyanendra Kumar Gangwar has contacted the state government, confirming he is safe following reports that he had gone missing. The 2016-batch officer, currently serving as Director of MSME in the Department of Industries and Commerce, had been unreachable since August 20. Minister Priyank Kharge stated that the officer traveled to his hometown due to a family emergency after seeking leave. While reports previously linked his absence to his former tenure at the Karnataka Public Service Commission, the government noted that no formal complaint was filed by his family. Officials confirmed he was last traced to Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru before he departed.
