Karnataka Government To Challenge High Court Order For KPSC Probe

The Karnataka government is preparing to file a Special Leave Petition against a September 21 High Court order that mandated a fresh investigation into alleged recruitment irregularities at the Karnataka Public Service Commission. The court had directed a five-member Special Investigation Team, led by senior IPS officer Alok Kumar, to probe the recruitment of 400 veterinary officers. The state government opposes the new probe, arguing that the Criminal Investigation Department has already effectively investigated the matter. Officials stated that the government is also dissatisfied with the appointment of Alok Kumar to head the new team. The court had previously set a 100-day deadline for the investigation and ordered coordination with the Enforcement Directorate.
