Kaushambi Cracker Factory Owner Arrested After Police Encounter

The owner of the firecracker factory in Kaushambi where a deadly explosion killed 11 people was arrested following a police encounter on Tuesday. The accused, identified as Naushad, was intercepted by police in the Saiyad Sarawan area around 4 am and allegedly opened fire before being shot in the leg. The initial blast occurred on Monday afternoon in the Manauri market area along the Prayagraj-Kaushambi border, triggering continuous secondary explosions and leaving five others hospitalised with injuries. An FIR has been registered against six family members under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Explosives Act for operating the facility without safety measures. Police recovered an illegal pistol and cartridges from the suspect following his arrest.
