A 65-year-old pilgrim, Madan Mohan Tiwari, was killed on Sunday after being struck by falling boulders near the Cheerbasa Helipad in Kedarnath. The incident occurred as heavy rainfall triggered landslides, forcing authorities to temporarily suspend the pilgrimage. Officials have directed travellers heading toward Kedarnath to stop at Sonprayag and Gaurikund, while those returning are advised to halt at Jangalchatti. The State Emergency Operation Centre confirmed the route remains blocked by debris. Pilgrims have been instructed to wait for official clearance before resuming their journey.
