Aminata Seck, a 26-year-old Kentucky State University basketball player from Senegal, was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement on August 7 at Louisville’s Muhammad Ali International Airport. Seck, who is in the United States on a student visa, was detained while traveling with her team to a tournament in New York. Her attorney, Sadiqa Reynolds, stated that Seck may have missed a visa deadline due to medical issues, including back surgery and an ACL injury. Seck is currently listed on the Grayson County Detention Center inmate roster, and the reason for her detention remains unconfirmed by ICE.
