Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan urged timely amendments to legal frameworks in Kochi on Saturday to address emerging challenges from artificial intelligence, including digital defamation, deepfakes, and copyright violations. Speaking at a seminar on art, culture, and law organised by the Kerala Judicial Academy and the National University of Advanced Legal Studies, he noted a sharp rise in unauthorized copying of creative works driven by technological progress. Kerala High Court Chief Justice Soumen Sen emphasized that while art expresses human experience, law exists to regulate and protect it. Supreme Court Justice V. Mohana attended the event as chief guest alongside state ministers and academic leaders.
