A physical scuffle broke out between Congress MLA Ramya Haridas and local party workers in Chirayinkeezhu, Thiruvananthapuram, leaving the legislator injured. Haridas sought treatment at the Chirayinkeezhu taluk hospital after alleging she was attacked and threatened by local leaders. The confrontation escalated from a dispute over critical remarks made in a WhatsApp group regarding a staff member's meeting attendance. Kerala Police registered a case against seven Congress workers, including district panchayat member Sajith Muttambalam and party leader Sajad, under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the SC/ST Act. A separate counter-complaint is also expected to be filed by Sajad.
