Kerala Police have arrested a minor girl and three teenage accomplices for the murder of her grandfather in Alappuzha on August 15. Investigators revealed that the girl conspired with her friends from Kollam to steal money and gold ornaments to buy an iPhone and a bike. The three teenage boys arrived by train, sneaked into the victim's house through a washroom ventilator, and smothered the man to death during a scuffle. The gang allegedly stole six sovereigns of gold before returning to Kollam early Sunday morning. The girl later alerted neighbours by claiming the house was locked from the inside, but her contradictory statements and phone records exposed the plot.
