· India · Indian Express, The Hindu
Kerala Police are investigating suspected extremist links following an arson attack at the Kadavumbagam Synagogue near the Ernakulam market in Kochi. Kochi city police arrested 32-year-old Ebin Paul in connection with the incident, which occurred at 2:30 am on Monday. According to investigators, Paul poured petrol on a horticulture nursery maintained by the synagogue's management committee and set it on fire while recording the act on his mobile phone. Police recovered synthetic drugs and heroin from his rented premises in Puthancruz, leading to a separate drug seizure case. Investigators found suspicious chats and financial transactions on Paul's phone and are working to identify his associate, alongside examining his alleged involvement in a previous arson attack in Muvattupuzha.
