· India · The Hindu, Indian Express
The Keralam Council of Ministers has commenced a two-day residential strategic leadership retreat at the Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode. Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan inaugurated the workshop, which aims to provide policymakers with a space to discuss long-term development challenges. The sessions cover diverse topics including artificial intelligence, climate resilience, public health, ageing, employment, higher education, and fiscal sustainability. IIM-K Director Debashis Chatterjee stated the programme is designed as a series of dialogues between practitioners and scholars rather than a conventional training course. No examinations or evaluations are planned for the participating ministers.
Why it matters
The retreat provides a platform for Keralam's political leadership to engage with academic experts on critical policy issues, potentially shaping the state's long-term administrative and development strategies.
