Ketan Agarwal Murder: Accused Used Fake Instagram ID to Lure Victim to Pune Fort

Pune rural police filed a 5,053-page chargesheet on Saturday revealing that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary used a fake Instagram ID named 'Mahi' to chat with Ketan Agarwal and convince him to visit Lohagad Fort on June 18, 2024. The chargesheet states that Ketan, a 25-year-old resident of Lodha Belmondo township in Gahunje, was allegedly pushed off a cliff at the fort by Siya and Chetan. Police claim Siya did not want to marry Ketan and conspired with Chetan and Ritesh Hange to kill him, having previously made two unsuccessful attempts to kill him at the same fort on May 31 and June 14. Forensic analysis of seized cellphones and e-devices recovered deleted chats from the fake Instagram ID, which is now being treated as crucial evidence. Siya and Chetan were arrested on June 23, and Hange on September 5, with police invoking sections of the IT Act and BNS for murder and criminal conspiracy. Superintendent Sandip Singh Gill confirmed the chargesheet was submitted in Wadgaon Maval court.
