Kieron Pollard Urges Mumbai Indians to Prioritize Team Success
· Sports · Times of India, Sportstar, Indian Express
New Mumbai Indians head coach Kieron Pollard has called on players to prioritize the team over individual performance to reverse recent struggles. Acknowledging that the franchise has underperformed in recent seasons, Pollard emphasized the need to restore the team's identity at Wankhede Stadium. He specifically requested that fans show their support by wearing the team's blue colours rather than those of rival franchises. The team has not secured an IPL title since 2020, finishing tenth in 2024 and ninth in 2026.
Why it matters
As a five-time champion, Mumbai Indians' ability to rebuild under Pollard's leadership is critical for the franchise's standing in the IPL.
