The girl, who was seven months pregnant, died while being transported to Jammu after a failed abortion attempt. Protests erupted across the village and district following her death on Thursday night. Police have also arrested the headmaster’s brother, who allegedly assisted in taking the girl to different districts for the abortion. The education department has suspended the accused, and an investigation is underway under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
