Kollam Court Grants Bail to Former TDB Chief P.S. Prasanth

The Kollam Vigilance court granted bail to former Travancore Devaswom Board president P.S. Prasanth on September 3, 2026, citing his medical condition. Prasanth, who was arrested on July 23, suffered a brain haemorrhage last month and required advanced medical treatment. He is the 17th accused in a case involving the alleged theft of gold from the Dwarapalaka sculpture panels at the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple. The Special Investigation Team alleges that the board's decision to hire a private firm for maintenance was intended to conceal gold loss from a 2019 project. The court had previously denied his bail plea before approving this fresh petition.
