The Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha has urged the state government to implement a State Advised Price and grant an additional ₹900 per tonne for sugarcane. District president Sharanabasappa Mamshetty stated that current returns fail to cover the production cost of ₹3,500 per tonne. The union is calling for a price of ₹5,000 per tonne based on sugar recovery levels. Additionally, the group demanded the installation of accurate weighing machines at sugar factories to prevent potential cheating by mill operators.
