The Karnataka CID arrested Basavaraj Kannale from Delhi in connection with the alleged recruitment scam involving veterinary officers by the Karnataka Public Service Commission. Kannale, identified as a local BJP leader from Bhalki in Bidar district, is accused of acting as a key middleman and kingpin between job aspirants and influential figures. Investigators report that he served as a Syndicate member of Tumkur University after returning to Bengaluru following UPSC coaching in Delhi. The arrest follows the CID's detention of former KPSC Controller of Examination and IAS officer Gnanendra Kumar Gangwar. Both individuals were produced before a Bengaluru magistrate court on Monday and remanded to 10 days of police custody.
