Kumkum Mohod Wins Three Medals at Asian Games

Seventeen-year-old archer Kumkum Mohod won two gold medals and a silver at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya. She teamed up with Ankita Bhakat and Kirti Sharma to defeat South Korea 5-2 in the women's recurve team event, securing India's first-ever gold in the category. Kumkum then partnered with Dhiraj Bommadevara to claim silver in the mixed recurve team event before defeating South Korea's Oh Yejin 6-5 in the individual recurve final. Her journey began in Amravati, Maharashtra, in 2018 with a basic wooden bow bought for Rs 3,000 using money gifted by her grandmother. The individual victory also earned India a quota place for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
