Lakshya Sen Drawn Against World Champion Lanier At China Masters

· Sports · Sportstar, NDTV Sports

India's Lakshya Sen will open his Shenzhen campaign at the China Masters Super 750 against newly crowned world champion Alex Lanier, a tough Round 1 assignment for the World No. 13. Former World No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth faces Chinese Taipei's Chi Yu-jen in the Round of 32, while fourth seeds Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty take on China's Hu Ke Yuan and Lin Xiang Yi in men's doubles. In women's singles, Unnati Hooda meets fifth seed Han Yue of China, Taipei Open winner Tanvi Sharma faces Denmark's Amalie Schulz, and Thailand Masters winner Devika Sihag plays Bulgaria's Kaloyana Nalbantova. India's mixed doubles pairs Dhruv Kapila-Tanisha Crasto and Rohan Kapoor-Ruthvika Shivani Gadde are also in the draw. The tournament begins on Tuesday in Shenzhen.

Why it matters

Early-round exits for Sen or Satwik-Chetty would dent Indian momentum heading into the season's home stretch, while a run from the younger women's trio could reshape India's singles depth chart.
