FC Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal stated in a Movistar Plus interview that he deserves to win the Ballon d'Or this year. The 19-year-old helped Barcelona win La Liga last season and secured the World Cup with Spain during the summer. Yamal also named Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe alongside himself as the two best players in the world currently. Mbappe finished as top scorer in the league and the UEFA Champions League, though Madrid failed to secure any trophies last season. France also managed only a fourth-place finish in international competition.
