Apple has reportedly co-developed a new range of LG-branded smart home accessories that introduce advanced iPhone proximity controls and setup capabilities. Findings shared by leaker known as pdfu indicate the upcoming lineup includes a thermostat, temperature sensor, deadbolt lock, wired video doorbell, and security cameras. The Proximity Control feature triggers a Dynamic Island shortcut when an iPhone is brought close to an accessory, opening device controls or camera feeds. Devices utilize an NFC tag identifier and Bluetooth Low Energy broadcasts to support quick pairing and identification in iOS 27. Users can disable this proximity behavior through the Home app after initial configuration.
