· India · Times of India, NDTV, Hindustan Times
A 31-page CBI chargesheet filed in a Bhopal court on Monday details the events surrounding the death of 34-year-old actor Twisha Sharma in Bhopal. Investigators state that Twisha sent a final message to her sister-in-law at 9:36 pm on May 12, moments before her death, asking to collect her husband's belongings and expressing a desire to die in peace. The central agency has chargesheeted her husband, Samarth Singh, and mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, accusing them of subjecting Twisha to mental and psychological torture during their six-month marriage. The chargesheet invokes Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions related to cruelty by relatives, abetment of suicide, and common intention. A medical review by AIIMS Delhi experts confirmed the cause of death as ante-mortem hanging, with no signs of prior physical assault.
