LeT Terrorist Killed in J&K Budgam Encounter Identified as Pakistani National

The Jammu and Kashmir Police identified a terrorist killed in an encounter in Budgam district as Yasir, a Pakistani resident and member of the LeT outfit. The armed encounter took place on Friday during Operation Ashdar in the forest area of Budgam. Security forces launched the joint operation involving the army, police, and CRPF following intelligence reports regarding terrorist movement. Srinagar-based 15 Corps designated the engagement as Operation Ashdar, which broke a months-long lull in security operations across the Valley. Previous security operations in the region included a joint raid in Chanapora, Shopian, on July 8.
