French club Lille announced they are considering legal action after defender Tiago Santos sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a meniscal tear in his right knee during a match against Le Havre on Saturday. Santos was carried off on a stretcher following an unchallenged tackle by Le Havre midfielder Amir Richardson in the first half of Lille's 1-0 victory. While the challenge was whistled as a foul, Richardson did not receive a yellow or red card from the referee. Lille stated they have asked the French Football Federation and the Professional Football League to review the officiating and video assistance handling of the incident. Le Havre responded by expressing support for Santos during his recovery while defending the match referee's decision and questioning Lille's move to challenge the play after the match.
