Lokesh Naidu to Hold DSC Exam Every Year, Accuses YSRCP

· India · Indian Express

Andhra Pradesh education minister N Lokesh Naidu told the Assembly that the District Selection Committee exam will be conducted each year without hesitation, and warned the education department that any failure to pass legal scrutiny would trigger serious action. He accused YSRCP leaders of deliberately stalling the recruitment and said the party had filed 141 cases to disrupt the process. Lokesh rebutted a claim that an outsourced SCERT employee, who had topped the exam, was dropped from the merit list; he said the employee had not informed his head of office, had not obtained permission, missed certificate verification and therefore forfeited selection. He noted that 10,060 posts, including 3,000 teacher positions, have already been filled through the Mega Job Calendar. He challenged former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to debate the alleged irregularities in the Mega DSC programme, and defended the sport quota recruitment as transparent and aimed at encouraging athletes.

Why it matters

The decision determines how teacher vacancies are filled each year and seeks to quell protests over alleged irregularities, directly affecting thousands of aspiring teachers and the quality of education in Andhra Pradesh.
