London-based AI lab Inherent has released an AI agent named Faraday, which the company claims can independently replicate published scientific research findings. The startup, founded by former Google DeepMind employees, recently secured $50 million in seed funding. Faraday operates on the Qwen 3.6 model, which utilizes 27 billion parameters, a significantly smaller scale than the frontier models from Anthropic and OpenAI. Inherent's chief scientist Edward Hughes stated the team prioritized teaching the agent research taste through reinforcement learning rather than relying on large-scale data training.
