The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration suspended the food licences of establishments at Bandra's Otters Club in Mumbai after discovering severe hygiene violations and the use of banned analogue paneer. Led by Food Safety Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, the inspection revealed unclean and broken flooring with drainage blockages, damaged refrigerator gaskets causing temperature fluctuations, and a lack of Total Polar Compounds testing records for cooking oil. Inspectors found the club preparing various dishes using a vegetable-fat paneer substitute sold under the brand name Regular Paneer from Punjab Sind Dairy, despite a state-wide one-year ban issued on July 30. This enforcement action follows similar licence suspensions last month at several other prominent Mumbai establishments, including the Cricket Club of India, RK Juhu Gymkhana, and Willingdon Sports Club.
