Mahindra Lifespace Q2 profit plummets 66% to Rs 16 cr as income surges
· Business · Economic Times, Business Standard
Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd reported a 66 percent decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 16.34 crore for the quarter ended September 2026, against Rs 47.91 crore in the year-ago period. However, total income jumped to Rs 104.02 crore from Rs 33.06 crore a year earlier, reflecting a significant growth in revenue. During the first half of the fiscal, net profit rose modestly to Rs 101.89 crore from Rs 99.17 crore, while total income surged to Rs 1,081.56 crore from Rs 73.67 crore. The real estate firm attributes the sharp profit drop to margin pressure despite the substantial income growth.
Why it matters
The steep profit decline despite robust revenue growth signals margin compression for the real estate developer, impacting shareholder returns and sector sentiment. Investors and analysts will closely monitor margin recovery in subsequent quarters.
