During that hearing, a bench comprising Justices Dipankar Datta and Sheel Nagu observed that a member of Parliament should not fear eggs after entering politics, comparing political life to freedom fighters facing bullets. Moitra's counsel subsequently withdrew the petition after the bench indicated it would not grant relief.
