Mahua Moitra Moves Supreme Court Over Nadia Circuit House Eviction

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has approached the Supreme Court alleging that the Nadia district administration in West Bengal evicted her from her official constituency accommodation at the Circuit House in violation of high court orders. Mentioning the Article 32 petition before Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana, Moitra's counsel stated she was forced out at 11 pm by the Additional District Magistrate and District Magistrate. Moitra claimed she received a sudden call to vacate her room at 9:47 pm after finishing dinner, while a crowd gathered outside shouting religious slogans. The bench responded with 'We will see' while considering an early listing date for the constitutional matter. Moitra argued that the midnight action by local officials infringes upon federalism and parliamentary privileges.
