A major landslide triggered by continuous heavy rainfall damaged several houses in Sikkim's Gyalshing district on late Thursday. The incident occurred in Rimbi village within Yuksom-Tashiding, destroying or extensively damaging multiple homes and government accommodations. Officials confirmed that there was no loss of life despite the extensive damage to residential structures. Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang directed local authorities to remain on high alert and closely monitor the situation to ensure resident safety. The State government is taking all necessary steps to address the damage and protect people affected by the torrential rain.
