Malayalam Actor Devan Set to Join Vijay's TVK After BJP Exit

Malayalam actor S. Devan announced on Monday that he has decided to join Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party following his recent exit from the BJP. Mr. Devan stated that TVK representatives met him two days ago and invited him to join the party, leading to a subsequent video conference meeting. A formal announcement is expected following a meeting with TVK leaders in Tamil Nadu on September 10, 2026. He revealed that he has been offered the post of TVK State president, with discussions scheduled for upcoming meetings. Mr. Devan previously served as the BJP's State vice-president after merging his Nava Kerala People's Party with the BJP in 2021, but recently stated he was not getting enough space to function within the party.
