Malkajgiri Police to Seek Seven-Day Custody of Former Havaldar in Bolarum Arms Theft

Malkajgiri police will file a petition in court on Tuesday, September 15, seeking seven days of custody for 37-year-old former Army Havaldar Upputholla Mallesh in Hyderabad. Mallesh was arrested on Friday, September 11, after investigators recovered stolen firearms and ammunition from the 20 Battalion, Madras Regiment, in Bolarum. Police stated that on August 30, the suspect allegedly entered the regiment through the Kargil Gate, broke open the Kote, and removed firearms and matching ammunition. Investigators are questioning him to establish his exact motive and determine if other accomplices were involved in the theft. The custody petition is scheduled for Tuesday due to court holidays on Saturday and Monday.
