Man arrested after fake salary documents land him CEO role in Gwalior firm

Devendra Kumar Dubey allegedly used forged experience and salary documents to secure a senior position at Shritulja Bhawani Automobiles Pvt Ltd in Gwalior, claiming employment with Landmark Group and a monthly salary of Rs 2.8 lakh. He joined as Group Vice President on August 20, 2025, and was later promoted to Group CEO (After Sales) based on the falsified credentials. Dubey worked at the company for approximately nine months before resigning in May 2026. The fraud was uncovered during his full-and-final settlement when the HR team verified his documents with Landmark Group, which confirmed he had never worked there. Police in Gwalior registered a case against him for cheating and use of forged documents, leading to his arrest in Kanpur. The bank statement showing a salary of Rs 2,80,670 was also found to be fabricated and bore his signature.
