Man Throws Acid on Ex-Fiancee and Sister After Marriage Called Off in Hapur

A broken marriage alliance turned violent in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, after a man allegedly threw acid on his former fiancee and her sister. The accused, identified as Harsh Bhati, arrived at the victims' house carrying acid on Saturday night. The victims' family stated that the wedding had been called off after they discovered Bhati was addicted to drugs. When Bhati threw acid at his former fiancee, her sister stepped in and was also attacked. Family members detained Bhati as he attempted to flee and handed him over to the Simbhawali police station. The injured sisters are currently receiving treatment at a hospital, and police have registered a case based on the family's complaint.
