Manchester United Manager Michael Carrick Under Pressure After Draw
· Sports · BBC Sport
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick faces mounting pressure after his team failed to secure a win against 10-man Tottenham at Old Trafford. The match ended in a draw after a late equalizer from Dominic Solanke, leaving United with only six points from their opening six Premier League games. This performance marks the club's worst start to a league campaign since the 1986-87 season. United are currently winless in four league matches and sit closer to the relegation zone than the Champions League positions. The club has publicly backed Carrick, though similar poor runs in previous seasons led to the departure of his predecessors.
Why it matters
The team's poor form places Michael Carrick's future as manager in doubt, with the club's standing in the Premier League table significantly below expectations.
