Manipur Music Teacher Beaten to Death in Delhi Over Noise Dispute

Chongtham Vikram Singh, a 54-year-old Manipuri music teacher, died after being assaulted by a group of men in southeast Delhi's Kilokari village following a dispute over noise outside his home. Singh had come downstairs to object to shouting by delivery workers and dhaba staff operating opposite his residence when he was attacked with fists and blows. His son took him to Holy Family Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A police complaint was filed at Sunlight Colony Police Station on September 7, and some suspects, including a minor, have been detained. Members of the Northeast community and civil society organisations subsequently gathered at the police station to demand swift legal action.
