Matthias Jaissle Confirms Club Support Amid Newcastle United Struggles
· Sports · BBC Sport
Newcastle United manager Matthias Jaissle has stated that he feels strong support from within the club despite a difficult run of form. The Magpies currently sit 13th in the league table with 11 points from nine matches following a 1-0 home defeat to Everton on Monday. This result followed an earlier Carabao Cup exit at the hands of the same opponent, contributing to a record of only two wins in their last seven games. Jaissle, who succeeded Eddie Howe during the summer, acknowledged the speculation surrounding his position but emphasized that he remains focused on his tactical plans. He expressed confidence in the unity of his squad ahead of their upcoming away match against Fulham on Saturday.
Why it matters
The public backing from the club hierarchy provides stability for Jaissle as he attempts to reverse Newcastle United's poor performance and climb the league standings.
