MEA Calls Eiffel Tower Incident A Matter Between Concerned Entities
· India · Hindustan Times, NDTV
The Ministry of External Affairs stated that the controversy involving female employees at the Eiffel Tower during a BAPS delegation visit is a matter between the entities involved. The monument temporarily closed after staff alleged they were instructed to leave their posts or avoid certain areas while the BAPS group was present. The Eiffel Tower operator, SETE, acknowledged that the delegation requested limited interactions with women, though it noted such requests should not have been accepted. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal also clarified that it is common practice for the Prime Minister to send virtual well-wishes for temple inaugurations, dismissing the need for further comment. The site has since reopened to the public.
