Mehul Choksi Drops Damages Claim Against Indian Government in London High Court

Fugitive diamond businessman Mehul Choksi has discontinued a multi-million-pound damages claim in the London High Court against the Indian government and a Hungarian woman named Barbara Jarabik. Choksi had alleged he was unlawfully abducted from Antigua in a honeytrap plot on May 23, 2021, and extrajudicially rendered to Dominica. The high court claim against four male defendants was previously struck out after Choksi failed to meet a court deadline to pay £677,000 in security costs. Choksi is currently detained in Antwerp as he fights an extradition order to India over the £1.3 billion Punjab National Bank fraud.
