· Automobile · Car and Driver, Wired

Mercedes-Benz has updated its electric vehicle lineup with the 2027 GLC400 4Matic Electric, featuring a bold front grille inspired by the 1959 W111 model. The EV rides on a dedicated platform that stretches 5.0 inches longer than gas-powered GLC models, providing expanded cabin space for passengers. Under the floor sits a 94 kWh battery pack that supports fast charging up to 330 kilowatts, enabling a 10 to 80 percent charge in 22 minutes. Dual permanent-magnet electric motors deliver a combined output of 483 horsepower and an EPA-estimated range of 350 miles. Road tests recorded an efficiency of 86 MPGe during spirited driving against a window sticker rating of 119 MPGe.

Why it matters
