Meta is offering a steep discount averaging about 95% to users of its new Muse Spark coding agent model who agree to share their prompts and outputs for future model development. Under this contributor pricing model, input tokens cost $0.10 per million compared to $1.25 under standard agreements, while output tokens drop from $4.25 to $0.20 per million. The company has previously faced challenges gathering training data, including internal criticism that led to the pause of an employee computer-tracking initiative in June. Experts note that large enterprises often avoid sharing data for model training due to privacy and proprietary concerns, preferring token-billed Enterprise plans. By offering explicit financial compensation through the contributor tier, Meta aims to incentivize companies to share workflow data needed to improve agentic AI tools.
