Meta is testing various robots within its data centers to automate physical tasks including plugging cables and resetting servers. The company is evaluating hardware from vendors Watney Robotics, Kinova, and ABB. One experiment uses a Kinova Gen3 robotic arm to handle power cycling, while another robot is designed for swapping networking cables. Workers suggest this automation could potentially handle up to 80 percent of certain roles' workloads.
