Union Minister Manohar Lal arrived in Houston on Sunday to represent India at the G20 Energy Ministers' meeting amidst global crude supply strains driven by conflicts in Iran and Ukraine. India's Consul General in Houston, C Manjunath, received the minister at the airport ahead of the ministerial summit scheduled under the US G20 Presidency. During his visit, Lal attended a public reception hosted by the Indian diaspora at India House, praising the community for maintaining cultural ties with India. He also participated in a literary gathering for Hindi Diwas 2026 and visited NASA's Johnson Space Centre to discuss bilateral space cooperation. Additionally, the minister launched the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign at the consulate by planting a tree sapling.
