Minor Girl Sexually Assaulted At Goa Crime Branch Office; Cop And Aide Booked Under POCSO

A 16-year-old girl alleged she was sexually assaulted multiple times by Inspector Vikas Deykar and his accomplice Ranjini Palyekar at the Crime Branch office in Ribandar, North Goa, between July 25 and October 27, police confirmed on Saturday. The accused duo has been booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 75 and 127, along with POCSO Act sections 10 and 12, and the case was transferred to Old Goa police station. DGP Alok Kumar stated the force maintains a zero-tolerance policy and has initiated both legal and departmental action against the accused. The girl initially approached the Child helpline service with her grievance before lodging a formal complaint.
