Minutes before takeoff, Veeramani’s daughter taken off Singapore-bound flight
· India · Indian Express, Hindustan Times
Archana Veeramani, 49, had cleared immigration and boarded an IndiGo flight scheduled to depart at 2.20 pm from Chennai International Airport when Special Investigation Team officers reached the airport and alerted authorities. With airline crew assistance, she was brought out of the aircraft and taken into police custody for questioning. The flight eventually departed at 2.32 pm without her. Investigators are particularly interested in cash and gold transactions allegedly involving Veeramani after the first complaint of child sexual abuse was lodged in November 2024. The operation followed intelligence received by an Additional Superintendent of Police, who had been tracking Archana's movements and those of other people suspected of having links to the alleged offences.
