Mirzapur: The Movie directors Gurmmeet Singh and Puneet Krishna revealed they worried Ravi Kishan's character, Babban Babua Yadav, would become so popular that audiences would stop rooting for Guddu, Bablu, and Munna. Kishan played a gangster devoted to his girlfriend Mumtaz, portrayed by Sonal Chauhan. The filmmakers admitted they had to water down Mumtaz's death scene in the climax to prevent excessive audience sympathy for Babban. To balance the narrative, creators intensified the cruelty surrounding Chandu Puncture's death. The film adaptation of the hit web series released in theatres on September 4.
